‘Mistakes are all too often made by staff obviously not familiar with the area’

• WHAT has happened to Royal Mail’s postal service? It doesn’t seem to exist any more.

We live in one of five flats in a house conversion on Belsize Avenue, and have had no deliveries at all this week. It is now Thursday.

The service, such as it is, has always been sporadic when our regular postman is not on duty, and we have had to endure many instances of wrongly delivered mail, or completely lost letters.

Belsize Park being a continuation of Belsize Avenue, Belsize Lane is just round the corner, mistakes are all too often made by staff obviously not familiar with the area.

Does the postcode not give a clue? I have endeavoured to find the answers on their website, but it is labyrinthine and seems designed to send one back to square one.

We are an elderly couple and although manage to muddle by on the computer, with the basics, still rely heavily on hard copies. Please where is our post?
