Victorian post box in West Hampstead
• THIS post box in West Hampstead tells us the area is Victorian as much as Edwardian.
West Hampstead, once three farms, grew mainly due to railway stations. Today it is more of a railway connection point than most London residential locations.
Trains flash in and out to the three stations. It makes the area a good place to live to commute to all UK places.
As recently as 1960s into 1970s West Hampstead was its own village. Not so Kilburn, nor a more then structured Cricklewood and certainly not Hampstead.
The new century heralded much change in West Hampstead.
