• ON top of the article by Tom Foot (War hero Bill taken by Covid at 102, March 5) it refers to the “Spanish flu pandemic” and again in the text of the article.

No explanation is given as to the use of that name. It should say “1918 flu”, the year it started, or “American flu” the country where it started (Kansas to be precise).
