• BARCLAYS Bank is to close its West Hampstead branch, leaving West Hampstead with no banks – despite the fact that proposed new developments will swell our population by thousands.

The West End Lane branch has always been busy, even when it was opened six days a week, not two as it has been during Covid (that’s if it was open at all).

All of its customers will now have to go to Swiss Cottage, Hampstead or Golders Green. Or, as in my case, look to change banks altogether.
