• I AM a patient at the Brunswick Medical Centre NHS surgery, WC1, one of eight surgeries in London recently sold into the control of US company Centene, (The great GP surgery takeover, February 18). 

The National Health Service is a precious asset of the British people. It is obscene, immoral and – one would hope – it should be illegal, to sell off the NHS and its services to for-profit US corporate interests.

We need an investigation into the misguided authorisation of this sale by the clinical commissioning group and intervention to stop it going ahead.
