BY swapping a concert hall for a front door step, Baroque violinist Dr Anne Marie Christensen has been using her talent to entertain and raise the spirits of locked down music lovers.

The Kentish Town-based musician, who works for the Town Hall’s Camden Music Service and also teaches at Camden School for Girls, is one of a number of performers who are part of a project called Cuppa Concerts.

The free events are organised by Romain Malan of the World Harmony Orchestra, a group of professional musicians who formed a social enterprise to use their music to promote humanitarian causes.

Dr Christensen said: “We receive a request for a musician to come and play for someone who loves music, but is isolating or sheltering. Those who are nominated are people whose spirit could be uplifted – we knew it could help to have beautiful, live music shared safely.”

Mr Malan said: “They provide support to vulnerable people – the over-70s or with underlying mental or physical health issues.”

He added musicians could also play for socially distanced groups at care homes.
