A DOG-LOVER has created an app to bring fellow pup-parents together for group walks in Primrose Hill.

Irmak Ergin and her West Highland terrier Hendrix – named after the legendary guitarist – have lived in Belsize Park since 2022. The lawyer has developed PupCrawl in her spare time to help dog owners and dog-lovers make friends with one another.

She told the New Journal: “It’s about being able to make dog-friendly plans without fuss or overthinking, because having a dog can be limiting at times and as an adult, finding new friendships isn’t always easy. But then the dogs are the common ground.”

PupCrawl is also for people who like dogs but might be worried about owning one because of the restrictions it can put on their lives in terms of going to work and on holiday.

Ms Ergin said: “Before I had a dog, those limitations were the one thing that put me off, and it can still be a challenge to balance my life with Hendrix. But dog owners should have the flexibility to do what they want when they want, so that’s why I built PupCrawl.”

The app works by matching users with people nearby so they can go on walks with their pets together.

Ms Ergin is hosting a group walk on Wednesday August 19 from 6.30pm onwards, meeting at the summit of Primrose Hill.
