• NETWORK Rail this week culled several mature trees with birds nesting behind our house in Constantine Road and it looks as if they are continuing the tree cull along the full Hampstead Heath Overground line.

Who gave permission to this and how can we stop them from continuing?

This is a conservation area and the only message we received from Network Rail was that they would “remove overhanging branches” or “dead trees”.

We tried to contact Network Rail on and the community relations manager but only call-centre agents are taking the calls. We tried all day to get hold of him or Camden Council but to no avail, which was appalling.

The trees provided a noise and pollution barrier between our houses and the railway line. Something must be done before more trees are removed without planning permission.
