Nineteen-year-old drag queen James Gribbin works in underground clubs all over London, which he say is “rubbish money but good fun”. He wears a stripy pair of leggings from American Apparel, a simple white T-shirt from H&M and a vintage denim jacket. He adds a little height with his white platform boots and tops it all off with a maroon hat that he nicked from a friend. James, who is originally from Stevenage but now living in Stratford, said his best bit of style advice is simply to “wear something tight”.

Connor Warren, from Portsmouth, is excited to be moving to the area soon to study at the London College of Fashion. The stylish 18-year-old gives the perfect example of how to wear prints on prints, with his floral jacket from Forever 21 and muted, floral jumper from Topman. He has kept the lower half of his outfit simple with dark skinny jeans from River Island and dark red shoes from Topman. He said that normally, he likes to “dress to shock” and has many see-through shirts in his wardrobe. He is in town for a Nicki Minaj gig.

Luana Louise Guerrieri, is originally from Italy but works in Camden Town. The 23-year-old is wearing a light, leather jacket from Zara over a casual black and white polka-dot top from H&M, patterned skinny trousers from Select, and some shoes “from Italy, of course.” She picked up her mirrored sunglasses from Camden Market. Though today she has chosen a monochrome look, Luana said she usually likes to play with “colours” and jewellery”.

Tati Guerra, who is originally from Brazil, but studies at Queen Mary University, has opted for a multi-layered look. The 23-year-old wears a dark coat and bright coloured dress, both from Primark and a denim shirt from Brazil. She has accessorised with a little Swarowski cherry necklace, added some boots from a Brazilian designer, and topped it all off with a Fedora hat from the Stables market. She said the style in Camden is “very different” to Brazil: “People here like to express themselves a lot more, in Brazil people get into much more of a pattern of things but here they just wear whatever they want.”

Clelia Giannuori, who from south Italy but currently studying graphic design in London, is a big fan of scouring vintage shops for something special. The 21-year-old found her coat at a vintage sale in Brick Lane, which is also where she picked up her black jumper. She wears a pair of shoes from Italian brand Prima Donna, some leggings from a small shop in Camden Town and a long black T-shirt. She has added a long black scarf from H&M and some hoop earrings.

Alice Streames-Smith, shows how vibrant accessories can bring a simple vintage outfit to life. The 21-year-old from Maidenhead is wearing black shoes Topshop, black tights, a vintage white skirt and a brown suede jacket from Rokit and a lace white top from Topshop. The headband adds a little kick of colour. She said: “I always just think there is no point following fashion, I just wear what I want to wear.”
