Are these works intended to be ‘improvements’?

‘Is there anything that Camden doesn’t touch, that it doesn’t leave in a much worse state?’

• AS of Tuesday January 7 Camden Council’s “approved panel member” contractor has returned to fence off and start digging up another section of Queen’s Crescent.

Hoorah!

Do they regard the work done to date as a job well done and completed?

If this is the finished article for the section between Allcroft and Weedington Roads, how has it improved the area?

We now have lots more incomprehensible squiggly lines drawn along the sides of each pavement area.

The finish of the tarmac on the pavement area is rough, with irregularly shaped craters, resembling shallow scrapes in the ground by wild animals (see picture above).

Are these intended to be “improvements”?

A child armed with a plank could have made a smoother finish. Currently, several are trip hazards.

Some of these craters – to give the contractor credit for the quality of work – are watertight, so can fill up with rainwater, as well as debris, and may provide miniature ice rinks when the temperature drops.

Sadly, others only accumulate debris.

But Camden Council may see this as an improvement too. Who knows?

Which highly qualified worker from home is signing off on this?

Assuming that Camden will want to return to this, can we have some more hieroglyphics painted, saying “Is there anything that Camden doesn’t touch, that it doesn’t leave in a much worse state?”
