WEDNESDAY JULY 27 2011
RESIDENTS living in the same garden square as Amy Winehouse's house are to meet with police and the council to discuss "an appropriate memorial" for the singer.
The meetings follow disturbances in Camden Square, Camden Town, overnight as fans gathered for a fourth night at the shrine left on the pathways outside Ms Winehouse's home. The singer's hits, such as Rehab, were repeatedly played on a portable stereo before police intervened.
Labour ward councillor Angela Mason said: "Amy Winehouse was a very good neighbour in Camden Square who didn't cause any disturbance. We are discussing with the police about an appropriate presence in Camden Square in the short term as it was quite loud for residents last night. We would be thinking about what would be an appropriate memorial for Amy Winehouse, one that respects her memory but also does not lead to disturbance. We will have to speak to her family about what they would like to see there."
