Woman dies after being hit by tube train

A WOMAN has died after being hit by a train at Finchley Road tube station this morning (Monday).

Police were called to the incident just after 10am. The Jubilee line was suspended between Willesden Green and London Bridge.

Paramedics, the Fire Brigade and the London air ambulance were sent to the station, but the woman died at the scene. Police left the station at 11am and all lines have now been reopened.

A spokesman for British Transport Police (BTP) said: "The BTP can confirm that a woman died after being struck by a Jubilee line train at Finchley Road London Underground station.

"The incident was reported to police at 10.06am and is currently being treated as non-suspicious."

A spokeswoman for London Ambulance Service said: “We received a call just after 10 o'clock, we sent a single responder in a car, one ambulance and London air ambulance.

“Sadly, one person, reported to be a woman, died at the scene.”
