POP star Harry Styles is known for his generosity, writes Dan Carrier.

The former One Direction front man, who lives in Hampstead, has developed something of a reputation as being down to earth and up for random acts of kindness.

So perhaps it is no surprise that more than 40 fans of the singer descended on Brookfield School in Highgate Newtown at the weekend to give the primary a glorious makeover – and in return were gifted free tickets to catch the singer at Wembley this month.

The paint job push was organised by charity Earnt.

They rally volunteers to help with community projects – and in return get a unique gift to say thanks for their efforts.

Organiser Lauren Scott-Harris told the New Journal: “EARNT works because people put a huge amount of energy into supporting artists they love.

“There are few artists in the world that have more love around them than Harry Styles, whose very motto is ‘treat people with kindness’.

“We teamed up with Harry because we, at EARNT, have created a system whereby the love and energy people have for their favourite bands or artists can be turned into tangible, real-world energy, that does good for causes in need of some time, love and attention.

“We turned 400 of Harry’s Wembley tickets into 1,600 hours of community action –fixing up schools like Brookfield and community centres around the capital. Everyone wins. The schools get armies of volunteers who spend half a day fixing, painting, polishing, cleaning and gardening.

“The fans get a ticket to see their favourite artists. “And the artist gets to galvanise their ‘army’ to do real world good.”
