We have much to lose if the incinerator goes ahead

Friday, 14th January

• ACCIONA, the company that is about to be awarded the contract to rebuild the Edmonton incinerator, said at COP26 that they are unsure if such a facility is actually needed in London and that they would not build such a facility in Spain where they are based.

Why would Camden and other north London boroughs not want seriously to question the need for this themselves?

Obviously Acciona have nothing to lose and can only gain by signing a contract! We on the other hand have much to lose including money, health, wellbeing, and recycling.

And let’s not forget the negative climate impacts of continuing to burn plastics and recyclable materials for the next two generations at a minimum.
