We are puzzled about accusations about Jeremy Corbyn
Thursday, 8th June 2017
• WE are surprised and puzzled by accusations in the May 25 New Journal that Jeremy Corbyn is somehow a drag on the Labour vote in Camden. We have found the opposite to be the case.
While canvassing for the re-election of Sir Keir Starmer and Tulip Siddiq, time after time people make it clear when we knock on their doors that they will be voting for Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour Party.
Young people in particular, many of whom have never bothered to vote before, are particularly enthusiastic about the alternative vision he is offering our country and his fresh and unspun style of politics.
There has been a little bit of push back in the wealthier parts of the borough but far less than under Ed Miliband.
We have been working tirelessly for the re-election of Keir and Tulip who are starting to build a personal following. If, as we hope, they are re-elected with increased majorities, we feel certain they will both graciously acknowledge that part of their success was thanks to Jeremy Corbyn.
