Use of puberty blockers will result in litigation

Thursday, 11th August 2022

• FURTHER to Natasha Duah’s timely remarks on the Tavistock clinic (Letters, August 4) it is worth observing that staff there oppose the mutilation of female children by FGM but nevertheless advocate puberty blockers.

Chemical castration is usually reserved for incarcerated male sex-offenders and then only administered with their consent in return for parole. That medics are prescribing it to children beggars belief.

Litigation coming down the line in the wake of all this will dwarf both the thalidomide and contaminated blood scandals of the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s.
