• I HAVE read with interest your Letters pages of August 17.

Two of the letters are from self-identifying Conservatives, on different subjects in respect of which I express no opinion. However both letters refer to the lack of Conservative representation on Camden Council.

Perhaps both Joanna Reeves (chair of Holborn and St Pancras Conservatives) and Steve Adams (the former Conservative councillor for Belsize ward) would like to promote proportional representation by subscribing to the campaign Councils for PR and ask their councillors to propose the motion which can be found online at Councils for PR.

They would then have more power to actually do something about the problems that they identify.
