• REGARDING Elaine Chambers’s letter about her expensive cinema ticket (Take care of my £19.50, September 28), has she tried the Garden Cinema in Parker Street or Regent Cinema, Regent Street?

Both are easily accessible by public transport and offer showings at reduced rates of £5/£6 each week. I saw the Agatha Christie film for £6 and had a lovely cuppa for £2! Let’s support the independents!
