The pavement cyclist who turned attacker
Thursday, 26th October 2023
• ON Tuesday evening a cyclist riding on the pavement narrowly missed a pedestrian.
As he rode passed me I told him to “Get off the pavement”. He got off his bike and came right up to my face full of rage.
As I turned away from him he punched me in the face leaving me with a bloodied eye, stunned, and hardly able to see. The other pedestrian came to my aid, phoned the police and the ambulance service.
After spending five hours at UCLH accident and emergency, my eye was bloodshot but thankfully OK. This ongoing problem with cyclists and e-scooter riders on pavements is just escalating unabated.
The council cabinet member for a sustainable Camden, Adam Harrison, and his colleagues should be dealing with this ongoing and serious matter urgently instead wasting time and money on useless projects that don’t work just to make headlines.
Deal with this urgent matter now, Cllr Harrison!
