Crowds watching fights at Britannia Junction

• I HAVE no doubt that the organisation LondonScrapz has only good intentions in encouraging youngsters to take up boxing rather than knife fights but I am incredulous it was arranged and deliberately located out in the streets of Camden, no doubt at the major high street junction, (Knives down, gloves up, June 20).

For anyone that was not aware of the background they would come upon what appeared to be street fighting among gangs, incredibly frightening to those not in the know. It is little wonder that Camden and the police moved in to ban the arrangements in the street.

Why on earth did the organisers not make arrange­ments to have the matches in a private venue away from the public gaze. No doubt they wanted the extra publicity having it in the street. But that was an appalling misjudgment of public reaction.
