‘Increased funding has to be backed up by TfL cost savings’

• MILES Thomas urges readers to sign the parliamentary petition against cuts to London’s buses, (Petition for a real say on bus change, July 7).

What he doesn’t tell us is that the petition requires the government to increase funding so that bus routes are not cut. That should be coupled with cost savings within Transport for London.

The petition should read that we urge TfL not to cut routes. Full stop. I won’t sign the petition the way it stands as I think that increased funding has to be backed up by TfL cost savings.

I am sure there are lots of ways to do that.
