A UNIVERSITY student is preparing for a five-day trek to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro – the highest free-standing mountain in the world.

Muna Abdullahi, a former Haverstock School pupil who lives in Aspern Grove, Belsize Park, is raising funds for the Dig Deep charity that improves hygiene for south-west Kenyans.

The 20-year-old, who will travel to Tanzania to take on the challenge in August, said: “The chance to help people, who are not as privileged as we are, have access to something we take for granted, is something that I feel very strongly about, and I really hope you do too.”
