Police turned off music at Camden High Street venue
Owners say they have worked 'tirelessly' to tackle noise issues

POLICE have told the Town Hall they switched off the music and told people to leave a new Camden High Street venue after finding it operating beyond the terms of its licence.
Operators at Kiss The Sky – which has moved to NW1 from a previous bar in Crouch End – are looking to secure new licence permissions at a council meeting on Thursday after being warned by officers.
They say they had not realised the restrictions in place when they took on the property last year and replaced the shut down Trufflesecco.
In a report for councillors, Chris Malone from Camden police said action was taken in the early hours of January 15 after officers drove past and saw people drinking outside. Loud music was coming from inside.
When its owner, Tony Ray, met with licensing officers later in the week, he received a verbal warning but he told them that he thought the conditions allowed him run a late night bar.
The licence inherited from the previous states only eight people at the time can be drinking at the bar and alcohol is otherwise served with food.
Trufflesecco closed after losing business in the Covid pandemic and virus lockdowns,
A panel of councillors will decide this week whether permission should be granted for live and recorded music at the venue.
In its application, Mr Ray said he was doing everything he could to soundproof the bar, including adding an extra ceiling.
“I fully believed that I was purchasing a late-night bar operation,” he said in a statement for decision-making councillors ahead of the meeting.
“I accept that I should have researched the premises more thoroughly and that I should have paid more attention to the conditions of the existing licence.
“However, as soon as I was made aware of those issues I have worked tirelessly to rectify them and to work with the council, residents and other agencies to resolve all matters.”
