Please remain alert but not alarmed

• IT is with sadness and anger that I write following the terrible attack in Finsbury Park. My heart goes out to the victims and to our neighbours in Islington.
This is an attack on innocent Londoners. Like the horrific attacks in Manchester, Westminster and London Bridge and Borough Market, it is an assault on our shared values of respect and acceptance that sit at the heart of our vibrant city.
Extra police have been deployed to reassure communities, across the borough at key religious sites. Camden Council has also increased our security presence alongside the police and are using our CCTV and patrol resources to monitor key sites.
I urge readers to join us by working together to keep our communities united and safe.
This is a time for people of all backgrounds in Camden to stand united and show our determination that we do not tolerate hate and division. We are One Camden and our diverse community is one to be celebrated and strengthened.
Please remain alert but not alarmed. Acts of terrorism and hate are committed by a small minority and are not representative of local people.
Report anything suspicious to police by calling 0800 789321. If you feel in immediate danger call 999.
If you experience hate incidents or community tensions, report this to the police via their non-emergency 101 number or to the council’s community safety team on 020 7974 4444 or email communitysafety@camden.gov.uk
