Petition to save Ye Olde Swiss Cottage pub
Thursday, 13th February
• I AM writing once again to express my ongoing concerns regarding the closure of Ye Olde Swiss Cottage pub, which has remained closed since February 1.
Since its closure, we, the residents, have yet to receive any updates or clear communication on the matter.
In an effort to protect this historic place, I have initiated an online petition urging Camden Council to grant Ye Olde Swiss Cottage pub Asset of Community Value status.
Despite my direct communication with the council, I have yet to receive any response.
While the pub is thankfully still standing, it has been a quiet, uncertain, few days. The signs have been removed, and power to the building has been cut off.
Former bartender Paul, who has lived and worked at the pub for 16 years, continues to look after the premises, but it remains unclear how long this arrangement will continue or under what terms.
It is my hope that Sam Smith’s Brewery will honour the years of service and dedication that employees like Paul have given to the company.
However, I am increasingly concerned by the troubling rumours surrounding the company and pub closures.
The residents of this community, along with all those who have enjoyed and cherished the pub over the years, deserve clear answers.
I encourage all concerned residents to sign the petition and make their voices heard.
I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to my colleagues and the entire management of the Swiss Cottage Hotel for their fantastic and ongoing support in efforts to save the pub.
I also want to thank everyone who has signed and shared the petition https://www.change.org/SaveYeOldSwissCottagePub so far.
Your support is truly invaluable.
