THE Camden New Journal has for the 12th year in a row been named among the best local newspapers in the entire UK.
Despite a turbulent year for the industry, which has seen the coronavirus pandemic threaten the future of vital investigative and campaigning journalism, the New Journal has determinedly maintained its high standards – as shown by the shortlist for gongs at the annual Regional Press Awards released yesterday (Wednesday).
The CNJ and its popular sister title, the Islington Tribune, are both up for the Free Newspaper of the Year award. Meanwhile, our former journalists Bronwen Weatherby and Calum Fraser have both been nominated for a Reporter of the Year award for their work here.
Editor Richard Osley said: “This national recognition is testament to a team that has worked so hard – out here on the ground – during the pandemic.”
