Missing links, rail helpers who are no help

Thursday, 20th July 2023

• A GREAT initiative but poorly implemented by Thameslink at Kentish Town railway station.

Since the underground station closed on June 26 up to four people have been employed all day to give transport advice to passengers on the north- and southbound platforms.

The problem is, nobody knows why they are there. Even though they are wearing high-vis jackets, they don’t have clear identification or job titles displaying and there’s no information provided to passengers.

In a sea of posters and notices there’s nothing to introduce the new staff, let alone any audio messages among the many public announcements.

All that’s needed is an “Ask us – we’re here to help” communication. Otherwise, they are invisible.
