AS one of the country’s most sought-after lingerie models, Abbey Clancy has graced many catwalks up and down the country.

But the wife of Premier League footballer Peter Crouch was on a cat hunt this week after her beloved moggie “Maggie” vanished from their millionaires’ mansion.

The celebrity couple recently moved to Belsize Park after Ms Clancy reportedly scored a spot on Strictly Come Dancing.

“It’s terrible – I’m so upset,” the 27-year-old said after contacting the New Journal for help. “We have had her for a couple of years and now she’s gone – I just want to get my Maggie back.”

Speaking from her home while making dinner for Mr Crouch and their children, Ms Clancy said she was “distraught” and had not been able to think about anything else since Maggie went missing on Monday.

“We’ve been out looking and putting up posters all over the place,” she said. “Someone said they saw her the other night, but she ran off.”

Ms Clancy said Maggie was a “long hair-type tabby cat” with a “distinct raccoon-like black mask around its eyes”, adding: “It is a very gentle and timid cat but much loved by the family”.

Ms Clancy started dating 6ft 7ins England footballer Mr Crouch in 2006 and the couple were married in June 2011.

Red-top newspapers’ gossip columns report that the couple moved from Cheshire to a “very desirable road” in London in the past few weeks after Ms Clancy was offered a £35,000-a-week contract to join the BBC’s flagship dancing show.

Mr Crouch was said to be “very supportive” and had agreed to buy a big house in Camden.

A source said: “Obviously, living in Cheshire is not ideal when contestants have to train at least five times a week. She and Peter are, therefore, looking to rent a place in London and have their eye on a gorgeous £3million pad on a very desirable road.”

Last week, the couple were photographed at London Zoo.

Ms Clancy won second prize in the 2006 Britain’s Next Top Model competition but after that her career took off with appearances in various glossy magazines and she was once named the 10th sexiest women in the world in an annual lads’ mag poll.

She has appeared on primetime TV shows, including Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, and Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen.

The lost cat follows the successful return of long-haired cat Wilf Mbanga to Alexei Sayle earlier this month after a similar New Journal appeal.
