CHOIRS will sing outside the former home of George Michael this weekend in a tribute to the legendary performer 10 years after his death.
Part of the Highgate Festival, the George Michael community sing-a-long will consist of 16 numbers from across George’s career, including Wake Me Up Before You Go Go, Freedom, Father Figure, Faith, and even Last Christmas, which doesn’t stop being a Wham! classic even on a hot summer’s day.
The performances will be at 6pm on Saturday in Pond Square, Highgate – just a few minutes away from The Grove, where George Michael was living at the time of his death on Christmas Day 2016, aged 53.
This year’s Highgate Festival will run until Sunday 21 June.
Other events include a special screening of the documentary Power Station (tonight, 18 June), about a couple who campaigned to put solar panels on every roof in their street, and events commemorating the Lost Girls of Highgate Cemetery (also on Saturday)and the Highgate plague pit.
