• MAY I correct something written by Nick Harding in his letter, (Pedestrians’ safety is being ignored, May 18)?

Living Streets, the campaign for city walking, is friendly towards cycling campaigners (we all want drivers to drive less), but has never lobbied for cyclists.

We began life in 1929 as The Pedestrians’ Association and have always sought to improve conditions for those who walk. We still do.
