• I AM shocked by the news that Cllr Leo Cassarani has been blocked to stand for the May elections.

Leo is doing a great job and I would like him to continue to represent Swiss Cottage ward. He is a trusted and helpful councillor who cares about the community he represents.

Why should he be deselected for asking probing questions to try to improve things? Should a councillor not ask any questions at all? Why is the Labour Party depriving all the Swiss Cottage constituents of the chance of being heard?

They should value a councillor like Leo who takes “supporting the community” seriously, not as a publicity slogan. Leo is an asset to any party and I hope this decision to deselect him will be reversed.

Is the Labour Party trying to lose votes by deselecting a trusted, helpful, caring councillor like Leo who actually listens to his constituents and tries hard to help them? If so, they have succeeded in losing my vote.
