parking wardens rise

Camden’s traffic wardens picketing their workplaces and protesting with cries of ‘Low pay? No way!’ and ‘NSL – No slave labour’

• WHILE I am not averse to Camden traffic wardens being on strike, I do feel for them and their families, and how they are managing, (Camden Council accused of ‘washing hands’ of parking wardens dispute, September 4).

Despite having paid a fair few parking fines they do a great job, and get unfair abuse. With much of the work we do being on the streets of Camden I have had many fun conversations with them. But I do wonder what its costing Camden in fines revenue?

I wonder if Camden Labour can tell us how much revenue they have lost from this strike; and which service they intend to cut to fill the gap in their finances. I bet they won’t say. They may tell us, but probably not.

As with any politburo they tell us either nothing or that we’re living in paradise. It has been noticeable that traffic issues have not changed while they’ve been on strike.
