THE funeral of long-time housing campaigner Monika Caro will take place on Friday November 14 at 3pm in the West Chapel at Golders Green Crematorium.

Friends of Ms Caro, who died aged 81 at the Royal Free Hospital following a short illness, are organising a small collection on the day of the service for Binkie her beloved 19-year old cat who is currently being cared for by the Village Vet Hampstead, where Ms Caro was a long-term customer.

A resident of Swiss Cottage, Ms Caro chaired the Camden Association of Street Properties (CASP) and the Save Swiss Cottage Action Group, campaigning fiercely against a 24-storey tower at 100 Avenue Road.

CASP said she would be “fondly remembered” for her dedication to protecting local housing.

Flowers may be sent to Co-Op Funeral Care in Kentish Town Road by 5pm the day before the service or on the day of the service by midday.
