TRIUMPHANT champions Teriyaki Diamonds proved too fast and furious for their opposition in the Camden Tuesday Football League.

The sparkling squad of old schoolmates banged in a stonking 104 goals in just 18 games, while only conceding 34 on their way to winning the seven-a-side competition, which is held at Haverstock School in Chalk Farm.

There was never any risk of the Diamonds drifting as they chased their first title since winning the Wednesday League back in 2019.

Club captain Jake Kirby said: “If you have followed the rollercoaster ride of the Teriyaki Diamonds, you would know we were due a title. But now it’s here, it almost doesn’t seem real.

“What we all realised is winning a league is great, but winning it with your best pals from 15 years old makes it feel just right.”

And the story behind what is one of the most unique team names in the league? Jake explained: “The main tune in the film Fast & Furious Tokyo Drift is by the Teriyaki Boyz, and there’s a line ‘Many-many diamonds dangling’, which all the boys just found so hilarious – it’s a banging tune.”
