Females deserve privacy, dignity, safety and fairness with single-sex spaces

• THE letter from Sarah Panzetta (I look forward to a wider trans debate within Labour, August 18), expresses gratitude to Angela Mason (We need a wider debate on transgender services, August 11) for breaking the Labour Party’s “no debate” line.
Given that the Labour Party has responsibility for Camden schools and health services we must have open discussions about the influence of Stonewall on our public services / institutions.
Camden Council is currently 47th on Stonewall’s top 100 employers. It is reported that Stonewall’s advice in relation to the Equality Act has led to organisations mistakenly believing that gender identity is a protected characteristic.
The Employment Tribunal judgment in Bailey v Stonewall and Garden Court Chambers- (July 27 2022), in which the tribunal held that a belief that “gender identity theory as proselytised by Stonewall is severely detrimental” to women and to lesbians is a belief protected under the Equality Act 2010. Will Camden Council / Labour Party commit to a review of their continuing association with Stonewall?
Attorney general Suella Braverman’s recent speech set out accurate interpretations of the Equality Act for schools.
Will the Camden Council cabinet member for children & families now provide assurance that Camden schools will ensure that legislation and guidance is implemented accurately following directive from the attorney general?
Will Camden Council also now ensure Camden schools / health services are fully compliant with legislation and guidance ensuring we have single-sex spaces in toilets / changing rooms / hospital wards / refuges / hostels etc?
Females in the United Kingdom have the legal right to exclude males in single-sex spaces (anywhere it matters for our privacy, dignity and safety), however they identify, with / without a Gender Recognition Certificate.
This is a proportionate means to achieving a legitimate aim of privacy, dignity, safety and fairness.
