Almost nothing is said about bus passengers on these websites

• TERENCE Bendixson for Living Streets seeks to correct me for saying that pedestrians lack support when it comes to bus stops where passengers and cyclists share the pavement next to a bus stop, (Living Streets has never lobbied for cyclists, May 25).
I am sure Living Streets, like all pedestrians, welcomes zebra crossings, green men, and so on, along with being against sin. However, in this case, I am talking about a situation where the interests of pedestrians are totally opposed to those of cyclists.
Look on the websites of Living Streets and the Camden Cycling Campaign and you will find no evidence of Living Streets opposing what are known as Shared Use Bus Boarders (SUBBs).
Almost nothing is said about bus passengers on those websites, so let me describe how SUBBs might affect them. Imagine you are a typical passenger, you might be a granny with a pushchair, someone with one or more toddler, someone with limited mobility.
The bus stops. The doors open. Passengers get off. They step straight onto what they expect to be a safe area, that is, a pavement. However, the pavement they step onto is also a cycle path, used by cycles including electric ones, which share equal rights with pedestrians.
How can any organisation that seeks to “improve conditions for those who walk” not campaign against SUBBs?
