POLICE were called to UCL Academy school today (Tuesday) after reports that a 12-year-old pupil had been stabbed.
The school in Adelaide Road, Swiss Cottage, closed at lunchtime as the boy was treated at the scene for an injury which has been described as “non-life-threatening”. He is in hospital this evening “under observation”.
Police said two 14-year-old boys have been arrested on suspicion of GBH and possession of an offensive weapon.
UCL Academy has been contacted for comment.
Parents at nearby Haverstock School were told of an incident in a bulletin issued this afternoon, although it did not name UCL Academy.
Nicholas John, its executive headteacher, said: “We are a close knit community in Camden and it is likely that students in all schools will have links and connections with people at neighbouring schools. In the immediate aftermath of this situation, please do everything you can to reassure them, if they raise it or are aware of rumours about what may have happened.”
