A DRIVER whose lorry seriously injured a cyclist in Holborn has been disqualified and fined £620.

Anthony Farmer’s vehicle crushed the male “Boris bike” victim in the collision in Gray’s Inn Road, at the junction with Theobalds Road, on April 19 last year.

The cyclist, in his 20s, suffered serious head trauma as well as pelvic and chest injuries but survived the accident.

Mr Farmer, 44, from Dagenham, was found guilty of careless driving and fined £420 at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court last Thursday.

He was given nine penalty points on his licence and banned from driving for six months.

The driver, who stopped at the scene, had previously pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle in a dangerous condition after police found his lorry was in need of repairs. He was fined £200.
