FOOTBALL superstar Pelé was in Kentish Town yesterday (Monday) as he visited a charity which uses music as therapy.
The Brazilian World Cup winner met specialists at the Nordoff Robbins centre in Lissenden Gardens.
He is in London to receive the Legend of Football award tonight (Tuesday) at the annual HMV Football Extravaganza (FE) event.
The event taking place at the Grovesnor Hotel in Park Lane helps raise money for Nordoff Robbins.
During his visit to the charity, Pelé met 13-year-old Eduardo, who has autism but has improved his confidence and communication with help from Nordoff Robbins experts.
Pelé said: "I was privileged to see Nordoff Robbins’ work today and to meet Eduardo and his family and to learn what a positive difference music therapy has made to his life.”
Brian McLaughlin, chairman of the Football Extravaganza event, said: "We are honoured to be presenting Pelé with the Legend of Football Award. He is without doubt the greatest footballer of all time and a man who remains at the centre of the beautiful game, where he is universally recognised, respected and revered in every corner of the globe."
