CUP fever gripped Regent’s Park on Saturday as scores of talented young footballers from across Camden and Islington set their sights on silverware.
The day of pulsating action saw the younger teams kicking off their cup campaigns in the Camden and Regent’s Park Youth League, while the older age groups took part in a series of nail-biting semi-final showdowns.
All the winning teams will be hoping they can now follow in the footsteps of St John’s Wood FC, who beat rivals AFC Islington and Camden Red 3-1 to be crowned cup kings in the Under-14s division.
On a pitch nearby sharp-shooter Tom Joyce was busy scoring six goals as Honest Sausage FC booked their place in the final of the Under-13s League Cup.
Ben Hymann, Enzo Allen and Toby Gould were also on target as the free-scoring Sausages ran out 9-1 winners over Eagles United to set up a date with Westend FC in the final. Honest Sausage’s Under-10s were also celebrating after they beat Canada Blanch 2-1 on penalties.
With the match finishing 1-1 in normal time Sausage shot-stopper Max Ozbolt was the hero of the hour as he made four superb saves in the shoot-out, giving Joseph Holmes the opportunity to score the winner – which he accepted.

PLAYERS from Westend FC showed off their attacking prowess on Friday when they went goal crazy at Market Road.
Zain Silcoit Duberry led the charge with four goals, while strike partner Nico Berczeller hit a hat-track.
Two goals from Reggie Murphy and strikes from Felix Charles and Marcus Newman completed the rout as Westend ran out 11-2 winners over Futebol de Salao.
• HOTSHOT Tyson McIntosh capped a man-of-the-match display with two goals on Friday as Isledon Wolves Channons netted a convincing win over The Heath. Kai Brown wrapped up a 3-0 win, while Oscar Phillips and goalkeeper Shelton Poku-Nyako were also in fine form for Wolves.
Under-13s A Division
NICKY Marshall scored the only goal of the game as Isledon Wolves kept their slim title chances alive with a 1-0 win over AC United Lions on Friday. Alfie Lusardi and William Sousa were both in excellent form for Wolves.
Under-15s Division
HAVING won at least two pieces of silverware a season for the past five years, the boys from ‘A’ Class are well and truly back on the trophy trail.
The triumphant team won the Under-15s division of the Camden & Islington Midweek Youth League with three games to spare, successfully defending the title they won last season.
Now they have set their sights on completing a tremendous treble by winning the Challenge Cup and the Cheshunt Sunday League title to their honours list.
Manager Chris Mozo said: “Our success is a real team effort. The coaches and the players always put in the effort of champions, while our sponsors, La Porchetta, make sure we look the part.”
Under-16s Division
LYNDHURST Eagles bagged the bragging rights as they beat club-mates Lyndhurst Lions 3-0 on Friday.
The Lions made the brighter start and were only denied the lead thanks to some fine goalkeeping from Sam Barlow. The Eagles took the lead against the run of play courtesy of a neat finish from Bren Stevenson. Striker Daniel Leonard then put the result beyond doubt with two second-half strikes.
