AS well as hitting the headlines after bagging a brace for Isledon Wolves, young Ryan Ward (above) was singled out for praise after standing up to racism.

The star striker, who goes to Holloway School, heard his coach Adrian Daley being subjected to racial abuse, and quickly tackled the offender by telling him he was wrong.

As a result the 11-year-old, who lives in Drayton Park, was given the Youth Academy Challenger Award, which was presented to him by the Family Mosaic Youth Foundation. West Ham fan Ryan said, “I’m really happy to get the award, it was the right thing to do.”
