Your Shout – Take pride in London and dump the sofa

Thursday, 12th July 2012

In his Summer Diary, July 5,
Richard Osley talked about the “nauseous advert campaign
on walls around London”
encouraging people to clean-up
the city in the build up to the
Olympics
But not everyone agrees with our Mr Osley…

I DON’T think the clean-up campaign is patronising, it’s mildly comical.

Obviously some people need to have it spelled out to them.

And why not use the Olympics as a point to turn over a new leaf and try to have a cleaner London for us all?

My husband and I were out walking along the river last week and we both said how great London looks and how proud we were to live here.

Isn’t that what it is all about?

Forget about what others think of us, it’s time we took pride in our own city, country and sports pe ople!

On a separate note, the ticketing issue is now overdone and boring.

I agree the process was ridiculous but they seem to have righted a lot of wrongs over the last few months.

My husband and I both lost out completely in the initial ballot but we both got tickets in the two follow-up rounds and have been able to buy even more since then. We now have tickets to five events and may try to get even more. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t have tickets that actually wants them.

Now, if only my neighbour would get rid of the bathtub and sofa in his garden…
