Your Shout – Sounds of spring fever

THE first cuckoo of spring is a magical, almost mystical, sound.
It reminds us all we have survived the winter and that warmth and wonder is on the way.
The darkness will be replaced by light, grey skies shall become blue and uncertainties vanquished.
On March 29 the familiar mumbled call was heard across Camden and Islington as it is around this time every year.
It seems like a meaningless rather repetitive drone but, if you listen carefully, it is comprehensible:
Cuc… Arsenal are the best team in London… Koo
Cuc… Chelsea have to advertise to sell tickets… Koo
Cuc…. Chelsea will lose to Spurs at Wembley… Koo
It’s utter nonsense of course, but strangely comforting.
For Richard Osley in the Crow (or should that be the Cuckoo) is always the first sound of spring, as reliable as his team is risible.
Arsenal will play well just as long as there is absolutely no chance of winning something, while Osley bleats on about how brilliant the Goons used to be way back when Greece won the Euros!
At least the Spuds managed to beat the Mighty Blues in a cup not that long ago. Which means their record against us at New Wembley Bridge is better than the Cuckoo’s band of Arsenal losers.
And in response to be the laughable claims of Tottenham’s finest that “the ghost goal cost us the cup”.
It didn’t. . . it was 5-1!
Monkey Boy Bale got the goal back inside 10 minutes; you had it all to play for, as the Mighty Blues have blown far bigger leads than that this season just for fun.
You lost it because you always do, and always will.
If it cheers you up just imagine, it could have been the Champions League semi-final and you ended up losing by that single goal not by three.
