Your Shout – Pack the bags and go home to Plumstead

Thursday, 7th March 2013

FOLLOWING Sunday’s result, I wonder what Richard Osley and other Gooners make of the rumour doing the rounds that a Middle East consortium is eyeing a take-over bid for their club?

And plans to rebrand them as Woolwich Arsenal and move them back to their Plumstead roots? And that the existing Emirates Stadium will be leased to Islington Borough for community activities?

With the Docklands Light Railway and recently completed London Overground, transport links in the south of the capital are very good these days, and with Crystal Palace and Charlton languishing in the lower leagues, south London has no representation in the Premiership.

The move would also make sense in the light of Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat by Spurs, as clearly north London belongs to Tottenham.
