I CAN think of three games this season when Arsenal simply have not been at the races – the defeats at Liverpool and Manchester City and the draw at Southampton.

In the draw at St Mary’s, the commentators said at the end of the first half that it was the worst performance by an Arsenal side they had ever seen.

Well, it’s safe to say the display during Saturday’s 5-1 thumping at Anfield was even worse!

So for three big games in the race for the title we haven’t shown up, the question has to be asked why?

Who is to blame?

The players, who take their money whatever happens?

Arsene Wenger, who has clearly lost the art of motivating a team past the winning post?
Or is it the lack of depth in the squad?

No matter what excuse Arsenal use Wenger has to carry the can.
