In response to the Grove Gongs, where Steve Barnett wrote (May 17) that Arsene Wenger was berated by the fans for forking out millions on another youngster… who just so happened to be Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

WHAT planet is your correspondent Steve Barnett on? Or better still, where has he being living?

It can’t be anywhere on this island of ours. Why? He says fans berated Wenger for buying Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Did you not hear the news reports or read in newspapers, including the New Journal, that fans went “ballistic” when Arsene took the lad off against Man United? As they said at the NotW, never let the truth get in the way of a good story.
