Youngsters do the borough proud

YOUNGSTERS representing Team Camden made their borough proud when they took part in Europe’s largest annual youth sports competition.
The National Sports Centre in Crystal Palace hosted the London Mini Games and School Games on Thursday and the finals of the Balfour Beatty London Youth Games at the weekend.
In the athletics Arnold Mensuoh collected silver medals in the 300m and the long jump, while Grace Mee won silver in the high jump. There were also bronze medals for Bronwyn Matthews in the aquathlon and Sam Martin and James Scott in the sailing.
In the disability athletics Ryan Hedges won gold medals in the shot putt and the javelin, while Jaziah Williams won silver in the 200m and bronze in the 100m. There were also golds for Shoriff Miah in the height bean bag and Nadim Maliq in the shot putt.
In the Mini and School Games Alex Borisov won a gold and silver medal in the swimming, while Dominic Ogbechie scored more points than anyone else in the athletics.
Overall Camden finished 27th with 789 points.
