Youngsters from Camden Swiss Cottage Swimming Club clinched the top team trophy at Barnet Copthall’s Kate Lack Swim Meet

YOUNGSTERS from Camden Swiss Cottage Swimming Club were the talk of the town at the weekend when they clinched the top team trophy at Barnet Copthall’s Kate Lack Swim Meet.

The accolade is awarded to the top visiting club at the competition, with points being given for top three finishes.

Camden celebrated a series of impressive swims across the board as their super squad of boys and girls (pictured celebrating) lifted the sought-after silverware.

Camden Swiss Cottages’ dominance in the pool continued at the UK Challenge Meet in Hatfield.

Rosie Hughes won the women’s open 100m backstroke final after taking gold in the 17 and over age group heats.

The speedy 17-year-old also won bronze in her 100m and 200m freestyle heats with personal best times, going on to place fifth and sixth in the open finals of the same events.

Alex Peake, 16, won gold in the boys’ 15-16 100m butterfly in 59.33 seconds and finished fifth in the open final.

Leo Jaggs, 18, made three finals out of three, with his most successful race coming in the men’s open 200m freestyle final where he finished second after taking bronze in his previous age group heat. He took a second bronze in the 100m heat but slipped to fourth in the final.

James Slade and Hok Iao Wong, who are both 14, made senior finals and were awarded silver medals for their impressive age group heats.

James collected his silver in the boys 13-14 50m freestyle, while Hok won silver in the 200m breaststroke.

Will Rittenhouse, 16, was awarded triple silver in the 100m backstroke, the 100m butterfly and the 200m individual medley.

Isobel Moffat, 14, achieved her first ever National Age Group qualifying time to earn bronze in the girls’ 13-14 100m butterfly heats. She added a second bronze in the 400m individual medley.

Sarah Taylor-Reid, 16, was awarded bronze in the girls’ 15-16 200m breaststroke heats.
