BUDDING young footballers enjoyed a series of screamers, scintillating skills and scouts on Saturday as coaches from Premier League sides Watford and Norwich and Championship side Reading turned out to watch the action unfold in the Camden and Regent’s Park Youth League. 

It could prove good news for some of the league’s youngest stars, who showcased their talents unaware of the attention they were getting pitch side.

Among the stand-out players was striker Tomi Obilana, who scored a hat-trick as Pro Touch Soccer Academy beat Hampstead in the Under-9s Division. Spanish winger Joel Codinach also scored a wonder goal as he raced past two players before curling his shot into the top corner to wrap up an entertaining 4-0 victory. 

With talented young goalkeepers always high in demand, Taurian Phillips also put in an eye-catching performance as he helped Pro Touch bag a clean sheet.

Kane Jones Sayer, Luc Carrier Sanders, Danny Brown and George O’Rourke were all among the goals as West End FC’s Under-12s hit six in their friendly thriller against The Hill. Jolof Sports Club, Kentish Town Football Academy, Highgate Rangers and Primrose were also all among the clubs celebrating three-point hauls. 

Hotshot Dion Sfarca led the charge as Camden Elite kept up their unbelievable scoring record in the Under-13s Division of the Camden and Islington Midweek Youth League on Friday.

The star striker banged in five goals as Elite ran out comfortable victors against AC United. Rafiq Salah chipped in with two goals, while Sol Scheinman and Adeyemi Adewale also found the back of the net in a resounding 9-0 win. 

Elite’s Under-12s were also in fine fettle in front of goal as they netted a 5-1 victory over The Heath. Caleb Mensah and Theo Woerner-Peacock both bagged a brace, while Ade-Pierre James was also on target.

The high-flying club celebrated a hat-trick of wins after a single strike from Isaiah Kinsiona proved enough to earn Elite a 1-0 win over Isledon Wolves in the Under-9s age group.
