• I WAS surprised to read the five promises in Labour’s local election leaflet. Why? Because one of those promises was to “invest in youth services”.

In this area council youth services have been in decline and young people’s needs neglected for years, despite the best efforts of GOAL and the community centre.

So much so that they are not even mentioned at all in the Gospel Oak Community Investment Programme which covers the Mansfield Road to Chalk Farm area.

So where is this youth provision to be provided and for and by whom? Not for young residents of Gospel Oak and Haverstock wards. Why not?
